Small scale hanging floral decor makes a huge impact

The following is a guest blog post from Anne Bradfield, Floressence, florist at Novelty Hill-Januik Winery during the 2016 Weddings in Woodinville wedding show and tour.

Ceiling installations have peaked in recent months, with all manner of floral and foliage hanging in every possible way. We were excited to show how a smaller scale hanging installation could enhance the intimacy of the Cask Room at Novelty Hill Januik Winery. By creating two parallel lines of green — on the tabletop and on the gorgeous wood ceiling -- the room got cozier, a little more romantic, a little more magical. And (we think) perfect for a rehearsal dinner or cozy celebration for just a handful of your nearest and dearest.

Flower Trends for 2013

Fena FlowersThe flower choices for 2013 are still the classic favorites: roses standard, spray, and garden varieties. Orchids are always popular and the most hardiest.  Peonies and hydrendreas are always popular mostly for their full shape and romantic look.  Hydrangeas are available year round and the miniature green hydrangeas are very hardy.  These flowers cost is pretty reasonable because of the size of each flower.  And although popular, peonies are only available for a very short while and therefore are more costly.  For 2013, we are seeing a comeback in baby's breath and carnations.  Look for them to be used in a compact style.

Flower Trends for 2013 was written by guest blogger, Judi Tsuchida owner of Fena Flowers.  All photos courtsey of Fena Flowers Blog & Amy Sopier Photography.
