ULTIMATE Wedding Stationery Timeline

"Wedding Stationery Timeline from save the dates to thank you cards" is a Guest Post from Weddings in Woodinville Partners Songbird Paperie

Finally, the infographic you have all been waiting for!

The Ultimate Timeline for Wedding Stationery

We here at Songbird are so paper-obsessed and in love with weddings AND good design. So, we created this handy dandy infographic to help you figure out when to order what, and when to send what!

Wedding Stationary Timeline

You're Engaged!

Find your stationery designer and calligrapher. Luckily, that's us all in one! Contact erica@songbirdpaperie.com to set up a free wedding stationery & calligraphy consultation!

12-6 Months Before Your Wedding

Order Save the Date announcements and Thank You cards. You should send thank you cards as gifts come in. Trust us. You'll be happy you kept up with it early because the thank you list does start to pile up fast!

6-8 Months Before

Mail Save the Date announcements. If you're having a destination wedding (say, in Jamaica, Paris or in a part of the country where most of the guests will be travelling to by plane), mail them out as soon as you've set a date and venue to maximize the time your guests will have to book accommodations!

4-5 Months Before

Start the design process with your for wedding, rehearsal dinner and day-after brunch invitations. Decide on an envelope color as soon as possible in order to get the envelopes to your calligrapher ASAP. Songbird requires 1 week per 100 envelopes, but during the busy season, our turnaround time may increase!

10-8 Weeks Before

Deliver invitation envelopes to your calligrapher. Double check turnaround time with them to ensure you don't pay a rush fee to get them done in time.

6-8 Weeks Before

Mail all the invitations! Order programs, menu cards, table numbers, place cards, favor cards, signage and other stationery for the big day.

3 Weeks Before

Finalize seating assignments for your calligrapher & escort/place cards. Prepare thank you cards for your vendors! (Order more cards from your stationer if necessary.) Ask your wedding planner, or recruit a bridesmaid, to deliver the thank you cards on the day of your wedding (or when you receive the final products)!

2-3 Weeks Before

Guests should have sent in their RSVP cards by now. If not, now's the time to hunt down the non-responders!

1 Week Before

Pack a complete wedding invitation in your wedding day to-go-bag for your photographer to capture along with the other wedding details!

The BIG DAY

Get married! In the morning, write a note or card to your future spouse. It will become a cherished love letter for generations to come :)

2 Weeks After Your Wedding

Mail "we got married!" announcements, if desired. (You may order these through your stationery designer as well!)

1 Month After

Make sure all off your thank you cards are mailed out and cheers to your first month as a married couple!

10 Reasons Why You'll Love Planning Your Wedding at the Weddings in Woodinville Showcase and Tour

Weddings in Woodinville
Engagement season is here! Congratulations to all the of couples celebrating their engagement during this time.

40% of engagements happen during the holiday season and if you were one of those couples, then attending a wedding show is the perfect way to start meeting the wedding companies that can help orchestrate your special day.  From intimate to extravagant, wedding shows offer inspiration and the chance to meet with potential vendors.  Plus, shows like Weddings in Woodinville, are really, fun!

Here are 10 Reasons Why You'll Love Planning Your Wedding at the Weddings in Woodinville Showcase and Tour:
  1. The format of Weddings in Woodinville wedding showcase
Weddings in Woodinville was created to be an intimate boutique style wedding tour. All our vendors collaborate to create one cohesive theme look, just like you would experience at a real wedding. Transportation between all 8 venues is provided by Butler Seattle - Valet, Transportation & Tours. Our tour is limited to 700 attendees to ensure you the option to meet and connect with every wedding vendor represented on the tour.
  2. The tour is fun for everyone
Your fiance, your Maid-of-Honor, your Bridesmaids, your Groomsmen, your Mother-in-Law, your Father-in-Law, your grandmother... everyone can partake in the food, photo booths, wine, cake, and fun (and those over the age of 21 can enjoy the beer, bubbles and wine tasting! More on this in question #8). Grab the whole squad, this event is interactive and has something for everyone!
  3. What's included in the ticket price
The cost of the ticket does include samplings from catering & dessert companies, wine and/or beer tasting at each venue, luxury transportation, a custom swag bag & cork notepad, complimentary copies of our media Sponsors Resource Guides and Magazines from Banquetevent.com/Seattle Wedding Resource and Seattle Bride Magazine, in addition to other swag that can be collected throughout the tour from our vendors.
  4. Tangible, tastable, and touchable experiences
Settle in for a snuggle on one of the vintage couches. Toast to your future over wine tasting. Take a twirl on the dance floor as the live band or DJ plays "your song". All this and more. Be sure to take photos along the way!  In fact, we'd love it if you joined in on the conversation happening on Instagram, Facebook and other social media outlets by using our hashtag #WiW2017.
  5. Book your perfect vendor during the tour
When it's right, you just "click" right?! Vendors will have their schedules ready to pencil you in during the tour itself, because when it's meant to be, you don't want to miss out having your vendor-soul mate be already booked by the time you contact them the next week.
  6. Promotional discounts
Historically, many of our vendors have offered special Weddings in Woodinville discounts for their services but you'll have to join us day of to find out what promotions this years vendors are offering.
  7. Your junior bridesmaid, whose not yet 21, can attend the tour
The show is recommended for adults only, however guests under age 21 are welcome to attend with your party. Ticket holders will be asked for ID at registration and will be issued a wristband before embarking on the tour. Underage guests will be issued a different color wristband and every venue will be checking wrist-bands. Bartenders may also ask for ID at any time so please keep your ID handy while on the tour. We do not offer discounts for underage guests.
  8. Spending the day being chauffeured around in luxury transportation
Guest parking is very limited and even completely unavailable at some of the venues during the tour. We encourage you to take full advantage of the tour amenities and enjoy the complimentary chauffeured service. If you wish to end the tour at any time, simply let your driver know and they will return you to the registration area where your vehicle is parked.
  9. Weddings in Woodinville does not give out or sell your contact information and email address
Weddings in Woodinville does not provide any contact information for direct mailings for tour attendees to any vendors. We encourage you to have cards or address labels to give to vendors you'd like to continue wedding planning conversations with.
  10. You can purchase wine during the tour
Taste something you like? We encourage you to purchase a bottle or two of some of your favorite samples from the day.

Minimal, Yet Dramatic Wedding Inspiration at The Hollywood Schoolhouse during Weddings in Woodinville 2017

We're almost through introducing the Weddings in Woodinville 2017 venue themes and participating vendors and we can not wait to see these ideas come to light on Sunday, January 29, 2017! Today we're sharing Alex Chalk, with Taylor'd Events Group, "Minimal, Yet Dramatic" wedding inspiration for the historic Hollywood Schoolhouse.

"Minimal, yet Dramatic" Wait, but how do those go together? Join us at the Historic Hollywood
Schoolhouse to see how you can set a strong base of minimalist elements - white cottons, silks,
ceramics, woods, stone and top with dramatic elements to create a truly memorable experience.
With a base pallete of whites, creams and greens we are going to pull from the gorgeous brick
interior and top our design with plum and dusty blush. By layering all these different elements
on top of one another, you will surely walk away with some subtle ideas of how to elevate your
wedding day vision.
