Vendor Highlight: Daphne Taylor of Creative Image Photography

Behind the lens, Daphne of Creative Image PhotographyWhat is your name and company?
Daphne Taylor of Creative Image Photography

What inspired you to start your business?
I started my business three years ago to pursue my passion for beautiful photos. I wanted to be the type of photographer everyone dreams of – a friend, confidant, trusted professional – and to deliver the kind of creative, unique and fun photos that every bride dreams about.

What sets you apart from other vendors in your field?
In order to capture a wedding, I spend time with the couple to learn their style and that is the backbone of our approach to every wedding. We don’t follow a formula and instead focus on capturing the event the way the couple wants to remember it.

What's your style?
We have two styles that we combine into our own unique style. We blend Craig’s (Daphne's partner and husband) photojournalistic style and Daphne’s artistic style with a touch of tradition to capture our couples in hundreds fun and creative photos. We’re there with you as you primp, laugh and cry.

What is the main thing that makes you unique?
We shoot every wedding with our two principal photographers – Daphne and Craig. As a team, we are able to capture moments that our couples don’t even remember happening – and they love this.

What is your greatest strength?
Our creative and fun style along with our pragmatic approach is what ensures that we are able to deliver stunning photos every time.

What are you most proud of?
We’re most proud at every wedding when we know that we have successfully captured the most important day in people’s lives and we love it when we see their faces light up as they look at their photos and albums.

You can meet Daphne and Craig at the Annual Snohomish Wedding Showcase Tour on May 22, 2011 where they will be featured at  Twin Willow Gardens

Vendor Highlight: PJ Hummel of PJ Hummel & Company

Photo used with permissionWhat is your name and company?
My Name is PJ Hummel and my business is PJ Hummel & Company

What inspired you to start your business?
I spent the first fifteen years of my career doing window display and visual merchandising for stores and tradeshows. In 1995, a friend asked me to help on a fundraiser for the local zoo. During that event someone showed me a copy of Special Event Magazine, where I learned there was a whole world of people creating wild & wacky events for a living. It seemed like the very best job in the world, so the event design division PJ Hummel & Company was born.

What sets you apart from other vendors in your field?
What sets PJ Hummel & Company apart from other vendors in our field is our longevity, expertise, and experience. We have had many opportunities to work on some really big projects in some very unusual locations.

What's your style?
Our company is known for our elegance and total room transformations with the use of fabrics and lighting.

What is the main thing that makes you unique?
We are a hybrid of designer and supplier, and have a strong passion for new ideas. We call ourselves “the ultimate event resource” because we do it all. We own our own inventory of soft seating, 20’ high drapes, centerpieces, and decorative galore.

What is your greatest strength?
Our team. We are a group of risk taking entrepreneurial creatives, artists, business majors, graphic & industrial designers, and trained carpenters. Our trendsetting passionate team is capable of almost anything in house.

What are you most proud of?
We are proud to still be in business, it’s been a long bumpy few years for small businesses. A few of our competitors didn’t make it through. We’re proud that we love what we do, and make things beautiful ever day.

PJ Hummel was featured at The Loft at Russell's.

Emily Pollock, Events Director for Novelty Hill Januik Winery

Emily Pollack of Novelty Hill Januik WineryAs a Seattle native with more than ten years experience in hospitality, event planning and venue management my journey actually began with an IT-focused business degree from Western Washington University. Not surprisingly, after a short stint in the banquet department at the Westin Seattle my aptitude for event management quickly became apparent and, needless to say, I’ve been hooked ever since! Over the years I have organized all types of events, from small rehearsal dinners to corporate blowouts for more than 4000, but my true passion has always been weddings. There is a feeling of accomplishment that comes with watching a bride walk down the aisle toward the wedding of her dreams that I just can’t resist, and the desire to exceed expectations in every detail fuels my inspiration from one wedding to the next. As the Events Director for Novelty Hill • Januik Winery I have had the privilege of developing our spectacular venue into a premier location for intimate wedding celebrations, combining modern trends with traditional elements and a touch of local flair. In addition to Weddings in Woodinville I am proud to be a founding member of Wedding Network USA, Seattle Chapter, and I look forward to being a part of our long-term growth and continued success in Western Washington.
