Feast and Merriment in the Garden - a recount of Weddings in Woodinville from Married with Michelle

~Michelle Bernard, Married with Michelle, Weddings in Woodinville 2015 Guest Planner for Willows Lodge~

"Savory food was displayed among several stations from the award winning Barking Frog Catering - the amazing restaurant that is part of Willows Lodge. In particular guests could not get enough of the Barking Frog signature Grand Marnier prawns. Home made apple cider was also displayed with recipes for guests to take home as a keepsake.

Pedersens Rentals provided the beautiful vineyard chairs and table linens in a natural fabric called prairie wheat and an elegant navy shantung. Country style bistro napkins with navy stripe detailing added to the charm of the rustic farm tables.

Vintage Ambiance provided the large custom-made reclaimed wood farm tables, old white wooden doors used as bar tops on wine barrels for the food stations and smores, a rich navy colored velvet vintage sofa, striped detailed arm chairs and wooden side and coffee tables.

Julie Borrud with Bella Rugosa designed floral and decor including the chandelier of hand made paper flowers and delicate strung lights, arrangements with eucalyptus, garden roses and lush floral. Ceremony decor with delicate greenery and a hand sewn burlap fabric swag draping to frame the ceremony arch and a hanging chandelier, tulle backdrop for the soft seating area with a birchwood arch and wreath of greenery and floral. Rod iron tudors with candlelight and greenery around the throat of the tudors which flanked the dessert table and ceremony arch. An assortment of cake stands and dessert pedestals were also provided by Julie making for a cohesive design leaving no element and part of the venue untouched by her style and care.

Marissa Mead, owner of For the Love of Press designed the stationary with calligraphy font including the hand illustrated and painted map of the Willows Lodge grounds on the large welcome sign on the easel and the event programs that were passed out to guests. The menus and love grows here bride and groom sign also included hand painted gold detailing on the greenery border. The place card tags are craft paper and were tied around the silverware with navy stripe ribbon and a sprig of rosemary. Marissa she also created the craft paper leaf cut out escort tags that adorned the greenery escort card wreath that Julie made.

Kathryn Jones, pastry chef and owner of Divine Confections made the amazing cakes and sweets and favors at the table settings. The cakes were buttercream with a peach ombre design. The treats for guests were: Meyer Lemon Tartlets Sweet - shortbread crust with a citrus meyer lemon filling, Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake - New York style cheesecake with raspberry coulis, Salted Caramel Chocolate Cupcakes - Dark Chocolate cupcake drizzled with caramel and sea salt and Walnut-Anise Tea Cookies - Butter Tea cookies infused with anise, walnuts and powdered sugar. The favors at each place setting were lemon-thyme and almond biscotti tied with navy and white bakers twine.

For music Seattle Parties provided the DJ and band, The Haggis Brothers Band, who specialize in blue grass and folk and kept the day lively and toes tapping.

Other vendors involved were Kristy Lloyd Photography who beautifully captured the day, Caleb Scnharr of First Person Pictures who created a highlight film (https://vimeo.com/123762371), Kip Beelman of Lightning Booth with an interactive photo booth for guests to enjoy, Bella Umbrella who displayed their gorgeous vintage parasols for weddings, Tuxedo Club highlighting their navy suit collection that tied in with the design colors, Salon Maison, who provided makeup touchups to guests and the Willows Lodge Spa, Efeste Wines who poured their exquisite Everygreen Riesling and Final Final Red Blend collection of wines."
