Meet the Fun Travel Chick

Wedding planning doesn't stop after you're waved goodbye from the get-away car. After the cake has been cut and the last dance waltzed, it's time to sit back and relax on your honeymoon! Much like a wedding planner is a necessity, a travel agent will also insure that your honeymoon is perfect.

This year, Weddings in Woodinville is excited to introduce a new category to our wedding vendor line-up and that is a travel agency.  We are happy to introduce you to "The Travel Chick", Pam Taylor, Travel Consultant at Anywhere But Here Travel, Inc. Pam specializes in distinctive destination weddings.

The following is a guest blog from The Travel Chick about how she got into the travel business.

The Travel Chic

I’m so happy that you’re here.  Travel has always been a huge part of my life and something I love to do.  I had a pretty good idea that I was destined to work in the travel industry at a young age.  As a child I enjoyed family vacations, usually involving somewhere tropical.  Coming from Seattle where we see our fair share of rain and rocky beaches, I enjoyed the bright sun, white sandy beaches, and the turquoise water.

The Travel ChicI ventured out on my first solo journey when I was 21 years old, choosing the tropical (big surprise, I know) island of Martinique in the Caribbean.  I selected Club Med, a very popular all-inclusive back in the day.  This was way back when the rooms were bungalows, had no locks on the doors, and you used plastic pop-it beads to “pay” for your drinks.  It really was a footloose and fancy-free vacation.  To say that it was everything I thought it would be and more is an understatement.  I felt a certain level of freedom that I hadn’t experienced before and observed the same in other people that I met.  I knew that whatever “that” feeling was I wanted more of it, and I wanted to be able to help others feel the same thing.  I left Martinique a changed girl!

Upon returning back to Seattle, I wanted to keep those memories alive and what better way to do that?  Become a travel agent!  Within two weeks I had landed my first gig as a travel agent and began helping other people plan their dream vacations.  And the rest is history.  One of the joys of being a travel agent is to live vicariously through my clients’ travels.

The Travel Chic

So, I say…  “To travel is to dream….Let’s explore this amazing world together.”
